在前不久听电视新闻说：我们首都北京和区多城市都发生了沙尘暴，这些经济发达的城市几乎被巨大的风沙“埋没”，绿洲正在逐渐减少，这只能怪我们人类自己乱砍树木，破坏环境，使水土流失。难道，只有等森林变成了荒山，草原变成了沙漠，人类才会恍然大悟吗?
现在地球上受污染最严重的资源，就是水资源。原来那清澈的河流，现在上面飘满了垃圾，再加上工厂排放的工业污水，河水现在又黑又臭，从河边路过的人都要捂着鼻子，河流里的鱼呀、虾呀早就消失得无影无踪了。
再抬头看一看天空，总是灰蒙蒙的，哪叫蓝天白云，简直是灰天灰云。晚上也只能看看月亮，星星都不见了。看得最多的还是工厂那又粗又高的烟囱里冒出的一股黑烟。走到街上，经常可以闻到汽车排出的油烟味。我们周围到处都受者污染。
人类是地球的主人，但也是它的破坏者，又是最终的受害者。作为新世纪的主人，我们不能再让环境继续被污染下去了。环保意识是21世纪人们应有的现代意识，为了在新世纪里创造一个优美宜人的环境，让我们立刻行动起来：节约一滴水，节约一度电，多载一棵树……共同保护我们的家园吧!
